Thank you so much for your beautiful writing. I have had to finally release my mother from all of my TRYING to make her life better and trying to FIX THINGS. All I can do is be a loving daughter and share with her things that will make her smile when I call her every day. I set my heart and mind and face in a smile and my voice in a joyous tone, adding a laugh when I can. "Mommie" is what I am calling her again. I'm going to throw her a 100 birthday party one week before her actual birthday and plan on making it as simple and sweet as possible. Just lunch with my little family at a restaurant. It's hard to visit because we live just far enough away that getting there is a real problem. No public transportation and we're getting on ourselves and the long drive isn't easy. But come December 21 we will go to Great Neck and celebrate!
