On the fourth day my gratitude list is:
Breath - When I sleep I’ve become more sensitive to sounds and light. To deal with the sounds I got some nice little silicone earplugs which work well. One side effect though is hearing my heartbeat. I felt as is it was keeping me awake. Then I turned annoyance on its head and realized that my being alive is marked by that constant, the rhythm of my heart doing its work. Thank you, heart.
Biscotti - Nonni’s Biscotti which my hubby sometimes gets at the big box store. They are delicious, but the hard texture becoming soft after a dunk in my coffee, the dark chocolate on the bottom of the biscuit melting just enough to glide along the tongue. Sensual delight.
Angels - the sweet angels in my curio. Willow Tree is the maker of these popular featureless figurines with curved wire wings and gentle poses. When we redecorated recently and I relocated the curio cabinet, these five angels were the first items I placed there. I remember the givers of these gifts and how their love makes me feel.
Oreland - the suburb outside of Philly where I grew up. It was safe and simple and pretty, and still is. Two of my cousins now have kids and grandkids who are growing up where we did, in Oreland. Lucky kids.
Mobituaries - sometimes I remember something I really like but have let fall by the wayside. Mobituaries is a podcast by Mo Rocca (who is amazing) which takes a deeper dive into the stories of people and things that have died and the legacies they’ve left behind. I’ll leave you a link. You’re welcome.

Pretty straightforward, the Gratefulness-Challenge Day 4 of 21 by KnowledgeCollective. It’s fun not putting too much thought into what I will list. When I let them occur to me each day I’m kind of discovering the bits of gratitude I might otherwise miss.
