Gratefulness-Challenge Day 12 of 21 by KnowledgeCollective
The morning crop of thankful things.
Clear Days - these are those days when Mom is most herself and has the least issues with getting her words together. Her laugh and sense of humor shine, and she always tells us how very much she loves us. An important part of coping with big changes in a person we love is to recognize the things that are different and difficult and accept them becoming the new normal. But even more important is not missing those little moments of who they are, and being IN those moments fully.
Hands Held - A sweet moment in half-sleep, half waking, holding hands with my Hubby before the snooze button rouses me.
Lava Lamp - I have an old Lava Lamp that shines neon green goof moving through blue water. It gives off a green glow and the movement of the goop, rising and sinking down is relaxing. A bit of whimsy in my decor
.
Toaster Waffles - no special reason, they are quick, easy, warm and soft inside and crispy outside. With a bit of butter and a sprinkle of sweet it starts my morning well.
Piano - While I did learn to play as a girl I don’t play piano anymore. Mostly I keep intending to sit down at the keyboard. But on Spotify I listen to Piano In The Background. It’s beautiful and really not intrusive. It doesn’t pull my focus from what I’m doing.
I’m happy to be spending another day in the company of a sweet lady who needs some companionship during the day, and I’m lucky enough to be her person for that. Farewell to November and come on in, December. Welcome.
Carole, your words about your mom touched me deeply. Going through the same kind of stuff with mine.
