Safe Travels - My sister and her husband and their friend all arrived home safely from a glorious trip to Hawaii. The trip of a lifetime and so many memories. I’m glad they went but just as glad they are safely home again.
Softees - When the seasons change and I get the bin down from the shelf to pack away the summer things and release the warm clothes I often have a moment of “Ooooo. I forgot about that!” My Ooooo moment this year was for a garment by Softees. Found on Oprah’s Favorite Things last year, this is a lounge dress made of the softest and most cuddly warm material. It’s stretchy knit with crew neck, long sleeves, mid calf length, and pockets. On a cold morning I’ll put on tights and warm socks and this dress and feel cozy with a capital C.
Cousins - My cousins are on my mind today for no particular reason. My three aunts had my 10 cousins and I’m thinking of all the shared history we have. I’m thinking we should get reconnected to share what each of us remembers and carries with us, because all together those things will be richer.
Shopping In My Closet - Not much of a shopper, I don’t follow the latest trends and don’t buy clothes very often. When I want a certain look I look at the pieces hanging in my closet. I’ve purged quite a bit, but there are still moments when I come across some old favorite that had slipped my mind. It’s like running into an old friend.
Finding Money - There’s that coat or jacket you haven’t had on in ages - it wasn’t the right season, or perhaps it’s something you wear on special occasions. You put it on and, feeling in the pockets, you come across a glove, a clean tissue, and - a $10 bill! Who knows why it was in there, that doesn’t matter. What matters is that you have surprise money!!
