Gratefulness-Challenge Day 10 of 21 by KnowledgeCollective
Perhaps I’m doing some winter nesting, but I note that sensory pleasures came up today. My wish for you, the kind reader, is that something comforting, warm, and sensory pops up for you today.
New Friends - When life brings me someone new and I get to spend and enjoy time with them, just learning who they are is a real gift. The lovely ladies I’m spending time with this week are so interesting and we really enjoyed one another’s company. It’s interesting to observe that` I also experience myself differently through their eyes.
Video Games - I’ve been planning to join my brother and his friends in their favorite nightly game, and last night I actually did it. It’s a hoot, and it’s truly funny to make these glaring goof-ups as I’m learning the controls and parameters of the game. It’s also a treat to be putting voices to the names I’ve heard about for so long.
Body Lotion - How good it feels to take a few moments and treat myself to some moisture, massage and great scent. Ahhh. Jergens is a favorite of mine because my MomMom used it in the kitchen. The original cherry almond scent takes me back to her and that warm place of love.
Nin’s well-loved Bible with a photo of Daddy at about 3 years old.
Psalm 23 - This came up as a category on Jeopardy, and the verses come back to me so easily. It makes me think of my Grandmother, Nin, who read the Bible cover to cover each year. I really admired her dedication to that. The words and songs of childhood can resound in me with so much love and warmth.
Running Water - The sound of water trickling from a fountain or along rocks. The line from The Sound Of Music “To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over stones on its way” captures this feeling for me.
Another sweet morning. Now I head out into the day ready to experience things with a filter of gratitude I’d kind of forgotten and am rediscovering. May your day have the same.
Your joy is contagious my dear friend.
